Raise Your Voice – Malala Yousafzai

Malala Yousafzai is a female activist who raises her voice and fights for the rights for every girl to have a good education.

She was shot on the forehead by a gunman in october 2012, but survived the shot in the end. She was shot because of her believes that there should be justice and equality for girls and women. In 2013 she won the National Youth Peace Prize in Pakistan. Malala is one of the youngest National Youth Peace Prize.

I think Malala is a great leader because even after what she has been through, she keeps on persisting and has been very resilient. Malala really respects, values and understands the importance of education and wants everybody to be able to have an opportunity to have a good education.

One of my favourite quotes by Malala is: “One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world”.

Remembrance Day

On 11 November it is Remembrance Day this is a day full of respect and honour. At 11:00 on this day there is a 1 minute silence for us to take the time to remember all the brave Australian soldiers that fought in war for their country. On Remembrance Day many poppies are made. These poppies represent: the sacrifice of shed blood. Remembrance day is a day we commemorate soldiers and remember them. It is truly amazing how brave these soldiers were and it shows ho much they loved and respected their country.
